Wonderful summary of a life well lived—thoughtfully and enthusiastically lived, it appears. While sorry to hear of the loss of your friend, it’s nice to see the true optimism your ending phrase shows. We indeed will all be reunited, as our more perfect, wholly loved selves. Peace.

What a powerful piece, Fred. He was a tour de force in your life, and what a gift you and Terely are in SF, thanks in large part to him. He joins another pillar in the faith gone too soon. Maybe he and Tim are sharing stories about you! ❤️

Thanks Fred. This has been a very healing message for my husband and I. The part about our fathers’ being different with family and friends. Im so glad that your friend, Lewis, was in a city at least that welcomed him. And that Your church took the steps needed for women and gay folks to be welcomed and celebrated at City Church

I'm so glad that line was helpful about how our father's were different people with friends. And thank you, it's been our privilege to evolve and change over the years. I only wish I would have started both changes earlier, but we are all going at our own pace and it can't be rushed apparently!
